Exodus of Decampees as ADC Orhiomwon Unveils Grassroots Political Offensive

By Hon Daniel Asekhame

Orhiomwon Local Government Area has emerged as a major battleground in Nigeria’s unfolding political realignment as a massive wave of decampees from the ruling and opposition parties openly pitched their tent with the African Democratic Congress (ADC), declaring an end to politics of deception, exclusion, and failed leadership.

The historic gathering, which marked the official unveiling of ADC activities in Orhiomwon LGA, was led by towering political figures and grassroots leaders, including Senator Roland Owie, Senator Uzamere, Dr. Isaiah Osifo, and the Leader of ADC in Orhiomwon LGA, Don Festus Osagie Osagbiovo. The event attracted a multitude of ADC supporters, party faithful, youths, women, and new members whose presence underscored the growing loss of confidence in the current political order.

Addressing the energized crowd, the leaders delivered hard-hitting speeches, condemning the present government as grossly incapable of providing security, deeply entrenched in nepotism, and completely indifferent to the suffering of Nigerians. They lamented the alarming rise in poverty, hunger, and insecurity across the country, stressing that a government that cannot protect lives and livelihoods has lost its legitimacy.

They charged party members and new decampees to immediately register and collect their ADC membership cards, insisting that ADC remains the only credible and people-oriented political platform capable of dislodging a failed government that has mortgaged the future of Nigerians to personal interests and sectional loyalty.

The event also witnessed strong state-level support with the presence of influential members of the ADC Edo State Caucus, including the State Party Chairman, Hon. Kennedy Odion, former two-term Chairman of Owan West Local Government, Hon. Daniel Asekhame, and Chief Tony Alile, the Special Personal Secretary to the National Leader, Chief Odigie Oyegun. Their attendance reinforced the seriousness, organization, and growing strength of the party across Edo State.

In a major assurance to the people of Orhiomwon, ADC leaders promised a level playing field for all members seeking elective offices, declaring that the era of imposition, godfatherism, and politics of exclusion is over. The new decampees were further assured of full participation in party activities, decision-making processes, and leadership structures within the local government.

The Orhiomwon convergence stands as a bold political statement that the people have reached their breaking point and are no longer willing to tolerate incompetence, insecurity, and economic hardship. With the steady influx of decampees and the consolidation of its grassroots machinery, ADC is rapidly positioning itself as the rallying force for Nigerians determined to reclaim governance and restore hope.

The message from Orhiomwon is loud and unmistakable: ADC is rising, the people are awakening, and the politics of fear, poverty, and neglect is facing its strongest resistance yet.
