LAGOS STATE POLICE COMMISSIONER REDEPLOYED AFTER BLOODY BATTLE AT APC RALLY IN LAGOS

The Commissioner of Police in Lagos, Mr Imohimi Edgal has been redeployed.

He has been replaced by an acting Commissioner of Police, Kayode Egbetokun.

Mr Edgal is expected to resume as the Commissioner in Charge of the Explosives Ordinance Unit at the Force Headquarters in Abuja.

Reasons behind Edgal’s redeployment has not been made known but it may not be unconnected with the forthcoming general elections and an expected reshuffling of police chiefs across the country.

Many Lagosians would also link this with the controversies surrounding the attack on NURTW top shot, MC Oluomo.

Mr Imohimi Edgal has been accused by some members of the National Union of Road Transport Workers, NURTW, of bias in the case involving the stabbing of MC Oluomo during the APC campaign flag-off held at the Skypower Grounds, GRA Ikeja Lagos.

One Mustapha Adekunle a.k.a Seigo was declared wanted for the violence that erupted at the event.

MC Oluomo is well known to be a loyalist of APC National leader and former Lagos Governor, Bola Tinubu.
