IGP’s alleged plot to deploy a hatchet man to commit illegality by arresting identified leaders and members of the PDP exposed, DCP Ahmed Bello fingered – We are not moved, PDP says
The Inspector General of Police may be plotting to help the APC Edo state to attempt to rig the Edo 2016 election against the wish of majority of Edo state residents and voters.
The PDP in a statement today in Benin, exposed plans by the APC, in active connivance with the Police under the instruction of the IGP, to compromise the Edo 2016 election.
Investigation revealed that based on the request of the governor, Comrade Adams Oshiomhole, the Inspector General of Police, has deployed to Edo State, a hatchet man to lead the final onslaught against identified leaders and members of the PDP who are considered a threat to the manipulation plan of the APC. The main task of the officer that is specially deployed to Edo state is to arrest and illegally detain, even eliminate, PDP leaders to instill fear on the masses.
The officer so deployed is by name, Ahmed Bello, a Deputy Commissioner of Police of the Mobile Police Unit. He has been given the brief of leading a crack team of officers on the illegal assignment.
As a motivation for the special job, we have been reliably informed that the DCP, Ahmed Bello, was mobilized with $170,000 by the governor.
Reacting this this revelation, the PDP stated that the party was prepared to checkmate the APC on all fronts and that they would ensure that the election process is not manipulated in any way.
“No matter the level of intimidation and harassment, we enjoin our party members to remain strong and Edo people to remain resolute to change the change which has made life difficult to live.” The PDP Media & Publicity Committee report stated.
