GONE SO SOON THE CHRIS OHIRO I KNOW -----'Ufoma Umukoro

The Chris Ohiro I Knew
When People die, they say we have to say nice things about them . Not minding if they are true or not. Today I have nice things to say about Chris Ohiro.  Not because He is dead, but because they are true !
I have know Chris since 1978,  when my family moved back to Benin. We all grew up in Textile Mill road benin.
Then in 1998,  we both started work at Coscharis Motors, till he left at the end of 2015.

In all these years, Chris had a keen seens of fashion, very sociable, and a good sense of humour. Chris was a principle driven person, one who chose to pursue Gods way most of the time. He was the type of friend everyone wanted. Always close to you in times of trials.
Chris had a fault though, he never wanted to burden anyone with his own struggles. Surprising,  from a person who made it is to duty to assist and advice friends in their trials.

Let us all be clear about death. Death is but the beginning of life, not the dusk; for those who have believed Jesus.
It is not how long, or how lavishly we lived that matters,  but how many lifes we affect positively, in our journey to eternity that matters.

Funerals are for the living, they illustrate to those alive, that some day , we too will trek to eternity. It is not for us to decide or choose the time, but for us to prepare to meet our Creator.
Gentlemen and Ladies , as we commit Chris to earth tomorrow, as Chris joins the cloud of witnesses, the book of Hebrews speaks about in chapter 11,  let us remember Chrises Widow , Daughter and siblings. Let us now stand and be with them,  even as we all know Chris would have done same for us.

Thank you and God bless you all
