Obaseki commiserates with Ugbesias over matriarch’s passing

  The Edo State Governor, Mr. Godwin Obaseki, has commiserated with the House of Prince Ugbesia, over the passing of their matriarch, Mama Edetubu Ugbesia.  In a statement, the governor described the late matriarch as a loving and compassionate mother, who led an impactful life.     Pastor Osagie Ize-Iyamu is an astute politician and strategist from Edo State whose influence and following cuts across the three senatorial districts and the eighteen local government area councils of Edo State. Born on the 21st day of June 1962 to Late Chief Robert Osayande Ize-Iyamu, former Esogban of Benin Kingdom and Mrs. Magdalene N. Ize-Iyamu (nee Obasohan), he attended St Joseph Primary School 1967 - 1970 and Ebenezer Nursery and Primary School, 1970 - 1973 both in Benin City, graduating with one of the best results in the Midwest _(later Bendel, now Edo and Delta States)_ that year and excelled in his West Africa Examination Council (WAEC) in 1979. Fuel Subsidy Removal: Over 700,000 commuters benefit from Obaseki’s free bus scheme in one month, save over N314.7m*

  One month into the Free Bus Ride Scheme by the Governor Godwin Obaseki-led State Government, 706, 398 commuters have benefitted from the scheme, which covers both intra and inter city services operated by the State-owned Edo City Transport Services (ECTS), as part of support to Edo people following soaring cost of living occasioned by the fuel subsidy removal by the Federal Government. This is as over N314, 665, 500 was saved by beneficiaries of the service for the one-month period on commercial services. The Edo State Commissioner for Communications and Orientation, Chris Nehikhare, disclosed this while appraising the performance of the scheme, in Benin City, the Edo State capital.
