The hounds who went after him have left a gaping wound in his torso. The Chief Justice cannot limp on.
You can call them scoundrels. I will agree with you. They didnt come to fight for justice. They have political motives. They are utterly unscrupulous. But they knew their game.
They didnt come to legally indict hm. They know he would seek refuge in the fortress of the legal technicality of a prior indictment by the NJC. But they know he controls the NJC.
But they also know that when a chief judge hides under such a technicality to escape the a full open legal inquiry then he is morally mortally wounded.
The allegations are damaging. And no one seems to be denying them.
They have published his accounts. He will find funny excuses why he paid those monies in that manner on the same day. But we know the truth.
He forgot to declare his assets when he should. He would also make light of that. But he is not a lousy politician. He knows that forgetfulness could only be deliberate or pathological. And none of the two is good for him.
He should know it's vendetta. But he should also know that perhaps his time is up.
If the Chief Justice relies only on procedural flaws in the methods employed by these hounds to escape these charges and a proper scrutiny of his conduct then he is finished. He would have surrendered every moral authority to talk about corruption in the judiciary.
I have seen lawyers lining up behind the Chief Justice. They want to chase the hyenas away. But they must worry about Chief Justice. They cant help him limp on. The chamber he occupies is sacred. It is not for the deformed.
The NBA must weigh all sides of this issue. Yes they must fight off all the hyenas and jackals that are threatening to hijack the judiciary. But they must cull every badly wounded judicial officer .
The Chief Justice seems badly wounded
Legally, he is still innocent. He may retain such innocence till eternity. The CCT will not convict him. But if he forgot to declare his assets when he should; and if he owns up to those published bank accounts ; then he should do the needful.
The hounds have an ulterior motive. Their timing is criminal. But they have rendered the Chief Justice morally crippled. And the position of Chief Justice is not for moral hunchbacks.
Look at our Attorney General.
Then look at our Chief Judge.
This country needs redemption, from the streets.
