Information reaching us indicate that the dramatically impeached former Speaker of the Edo State House of Assembly, Hon. Victor Sabo Edoror, aka Odulampa, has been suspended for three months for alleged financial irregularities.
This is coming a few days after Urhokpota Reporters published an exclusive report that the APC plans to replace the current leadership of the house.
The report had said that Edoror is not favoured by the former governor, Adams Oshiomhole, to replace Dr Okounobo who is expected to be replaced within the next three months due to illness and especially for the fact that his purpose for appointment as Speaker, to hoodwink or pacify some Esan stakeholders in APC during the election, has expired after the election.
Adams Oshiomhole, whose cause for hatred of the Esan people is still being researched by psychologists, had vowed that Edoror would not replace Okounonobo. A good way to secure this wish of the former governor was to take Edoror out of the way to prevent any possibility of his springing any surprises.
Victor Edoror, being from Edo central as the outgoing Speaker Okounobo, and having been Speaker before with requisite experience, is favoured replace the interim Speaker when he would be removed before xmas due to ill health. But the former governor who has allegedly made all the appointments so far since Obaseki assumed his interim position as governor has allegedly vowed to prevent any one from Edo central from getting any strategic position except as deputies.
Victor Edoror was removed with the pretext that he was linked to financial irregularities. Many residents in the state however wonder why the House is only just investigating his financial irregularities months after even his successor, Hon Ativie, left office.
Investigations reveal that the true purposd of his suspension was because he opposed the aproval of five billion naira supplementary budget few hours to the expiration of the tenure of the former governor, Adams Oshiomhole. This was why the former governor allegedly vowed that he would not support Edoro to take back the seat of Speaker.
The stage is now set for either Elizabeth Ativie from Uhunmwode in Edo South, Kabiru Adjoto from Akoko-Edo and Folly Ogedengbe from Owan East both of Edo North, to succeed the outgoing Speaker from Ekpon in Edo Central.
Many APC leaders and stake holders in Edo Central have started to meet and straregize on best approach to managing this polarizing and provocative development in their party.
