Due to the Postponement of the Elections APC Edo North Steadily Unravels as Prince Musa Braimah Defects to PDP
A PDP chieftain Hon. Daniel Asekhame who is the chairman of
the PDP youth mobilization committee predicted the demise of APC in Edo north
their stronghold due to the extension of
time for campaigns as a result of the postponement of the governorship
elections from the 10th to the 28th of September last
week. How prophetic
A strong kingpin from Oshiomoles own ward Prince Musa
Braimah from ward 10 in Etsako west has decamped with a huge following from the
APC to the PDP. He sited the autocratic and totalitarian style of the
Oshiomoles leadership as one of the factors mitigating against his continued
stay in the APC. It will be recalled that the only Assembly seat in Oshiomoles
area was won through a court order by the candidate of the PDP and for months the
comrade stood as a barrier to the swearing in of the candidate despite repeated
court orders to that effect.
From the foregoing it can be surmised that the comrades
following even in his hometown has dwindled to a zero. A gossip column once
claimed the comrade was chastised by the Otaru of Auchi during a visit with
Obaseki in tow for his refusal to pay the Etsako local government workers
emoluments and for his brazen nepotism in imposing Shuaibu on the APC as a
deputy governorship candidate.
In all considerations Oshiomole has become the
albatross on APCs neck and the die is cast, no turning back. Will he now order
the announcement of results before the votes are counted, pay for the peoples
PVC to get APC more votes or like GEJ congratulate POI on a job well done? If
he chooses the latter, from all indications comrade may as well start
congratulating Ize-Iyamu now
