Babatunde Olukoga Holds Service of Songs for late Mother Mrs. Patience Olukoga
A Service of Songs was hosted yesterday by the Oputu family for the late Mrs. Patience Olukoga who passed away in the United States of America recently.
The occasion was well attended from far and wide by friends and relations of Engr. Babatunde Olukoga. The second reading for the service was taken by a close friend and associate to the engineer Dr. Mike Egboh and other readings were taken by family and friends close to the family.
However a long time friend of Engr. Olukoga, Hon. Daniel Asekhame a two-term chairman of Owan west Local Government was there to support his close friend and brother Tunde through the solemn occasion. Despite the political party differences (APC/PDP) both friends who are politically poles apart were seen to gravitate towards each other in a time of grief and emotional need which engendered the complete success of the occassion.
Hon. Asekhame was heard to say that his relationship with Tunde surpasses any party affiliations and the deseased in his words "is like my own mother. When it comes to the elections we know what to do". Both, chieftains of the APC and PDP have come a long way and are strongly united.
Further more Hon. Asekhames tribute to the late Mrs. Patience Olukoga emphasizes his relationship with the family. He states " Our "Chairman" as we used to call mummy is an exceptional mum who brought us up with a lot of care in-spite of everything we did while growing up. I was really looking forward to seeing her again so I could at the least reciprocate the care she always gave but....God knows best.
We all lived with her like siblings and no one could tell who was who between my brother Koga and I.
We were quite a handful while growing up but she always found a way to guide us and give us advice that we later found handy in life.
Also present in the occassion were Mr. Desmond Onochie, Hon. Steven Ideheren, Otoboh, Chief Judge Oru, Ben Igbudu, Snr. Ailoba Ahonkhai, Charles Otabor and many other close friends of Tunde Olukoga. The event was a huge success with a very solemn and well organised and attended service.
