PDP chairmanship: Race thickens as Gbenga Daniel may join in
There is strong indication that the former governor of Ogun state, Otunba Gbenga Daniel may join the race for the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP), national chairmanship position.
This is as some serving governors, National Assembly members and committee of ex-ministers known as ‘Reformers’, are said to be engaging in series of meetings in different states of the country to ensure he becomes the next chairman of the party.

The national convention of the party is scheduled to hold August 17, 2016 in Port Harcourt, Rivers state and the party has zoned the chairmanship position to the South West.
Meanwhile, a chieftain of the party, Chief Bode George, who himself is said to be eyeing the chairmanship position, recently warned that the party may be doomed should it make mistake and elect somebody who is not well experienced and grounded like John Odigie-Oyegun, the All Progressives Congress (APC), national chairman.
